Yeap, cable/fibre. Satellite is carying a very high delay-cost (36000
km of flight distance from the equator kind of does it).

 B> satel-lite, a sugar free satel then??

Yeap, remember this next them you go of chewing some old satellite ;)

Well, it is there on the STD website but STD first played in '93 and
STD played a second time in '94 as the opening band for the Stones.
These events occured on the glourious part of the network known as Mbone.

B> Well, this was certainly not a technical glory event.

Ah well... any Mbone transmission carries a certain amount of
homebuilt stuff, blended with hot computers and other stuff ;)

B> On what premisses are you grounding this 150ms figure on?

150 ms is old rule of thumb for telecommunications. This is the
roundtripp time where the brain start to get serious trouble such that
two people will start get annoyed with the intergap delays and will
also talk in there mouths. This is why cable is more interesting for
such communications... satellite is good for broadcast and other
unidirectional stuff.

B> They had some rack unit named Time Modulator/strech for each musican?

Hmm... rings a bell!

B> Well you can still do things in sync or play delayed.
B> If you can hear 32.5 ms delay you would probably hear a 150ms delay!
 B> But as you say i could not be 100,1 % sure.Only 99,9% soure!!

Right...

B> BJ in the land of dely,ely,ly,y,y......

Magnus in the land of decay.....
