Well 2 things come to mind from the start.

1. Start a label for electronic/experimental/ambient music that reaches
out to the unknown artist, tech and experimenter. A label who is open to
all, but lets the (for lack of a better word) professionals standing at
the door holding their plaques, degrees and accomplishments.

2. Once a year have an electronic music symposium(sp?) or show where again
all are welcome to come and view or listen, but those who consider
themselves "professionals" are discouraged from performing.

Big chore, but one well worth taking and much overdue. I am really tired
of teh average joe not being heard or being given a voice or an avenue
where they can shine. Everyone is artistic and creative in his or her own
way, and it seems ever clearer that in this world we are overly
obscessed with credentials, degrees and accomplishments. This allows for
very few to shine through bringing new talent and new soundscapes.
Remember the music revolution of the mid. 1970's. No matter if you liked
the music or not, punk and new wave turned the music scene upsidedown, and
the music industry over on its side. Artists and bands just got tired of
not being heard or having a forum to be heard. They took matters into
their own hands, created their own clubs and their own labels. It took the
music industry and the record labels a long time to gain control again,
but now here we are again with cookie cutter music and time for another
revolution in music.

Perhaps the same thing can happen in electronic music? Perhaps I am just
blowing smoke out my rear. But I think I have a point. What do you think?

BTW thanks for the response.
