Well there may be wittier answers but.... Do It Yourself
(this DIY is usually referreing to people who do home carpentry etc).
Don't be embarassed, I thought  "TTYL" stood for 'Things That You Learn',
actually it is 'Talk To You Later'.

You can find a whole list of this shit by searching for 'TTYL' in
AltaVista and finding the acronym lists.

good luck with that envelope generator.... but, as a mathematician, 
shouldn't you be making it by integrating a series of positive
and negative step voltages, generated by oneshots or comparators?
