All,
I know this is off-topic, but I'm getting highly annoyed with an akai disk
issue which arose a few months ago.
I used an akai s900 as my primary sampler for about 7 months or so when I
was just "getting into" all of this. I still have around 2 dozen disks
from this time period which have all my old samples. Nothing critical to
my current work, but I'd still like to have them. I decided to upgrade to
an akai s2000 over the summer. I contacted akai and they said my s900
disks would work... I talked to people who had done the same thing and
they said it worked. I got the s2000 and sold my s900, but to this day I
can't use my s900 disks on my s2000 (just gives me the option to reformat)
_or_ with that program which reads akai disks from a PC. (sorry, I forget
the name)
Any ideas for extracting my samples, please email me... No idea too DIY or
gruesome. Ya think my s900 just had a funky disk drive somehow? It acted
"normal" in all other respects! Very frustrating!
