I don't think that people with Mac's are part of their target demographic.
But for the record...
I have four seperate machines networked in my living room.I live
in a warehouse (the overall effect when it is dark inside is so cool.) The
point is, they can all run a Nerd modular (and have). The four machines w
monitors & interfaces ( one 4x6 and another 6x8) cost me less than five
hundred USD. That breaks down to about $125 a machine. This was with
minimal digging and hookups, no real special deals. I could replicate this
system today in about one hour for $175. That's a P 133 with 32 megs, a
monitor, and 2x4 midi interface.
So what I am saying is that even though I already own four Pc's, I went
out and bought one just for the Nord (which I still haven't bought yet,
couldn't part with my ASR-10, although now that the Akai S6000 is out...)
Pc's are cheap. Mac's, on the other hand are outrageously expensive. The
going price for a Mac classic is still $300 !!! That is insane.
BTW-it is important (for this information) to know that I
live in the US.
