The 2045 is similar to the 2044 only in having a 4 pole output.

The 2045 is a quad OTA based lpf with outputs after the second and fourth
OTA integrators, the 2044 a convoluted transistor ladder design.
IMO the 2044 shits on the 2045 from a height. The 2045 is much cleaner -
better suited to dirty oscillators. 
I used a 2045 with some curtis 3340 based oscillators and the overall sound
was quite uninspiring, but in an Sh09, it allowed the character of the oscs
to shine thru, with a much improved bass end.
Until last year or so, the 2045 was still available from Maplin, but they
are now discontinued.
2044s should be available from your nearest battery acid scarred Polysix, or
you can pinch them from an Emu Drumulator without anyone noticing (they are
used to filter noise from the toms).
