There were plenty of these in Italy, where it came from.
The company was successful enough for Roland to buy it and
close it down, using it as a distributor for its own product.

SSM 2045: 
2 pole and 4 pole filter outputs.
on-chip mixer-VCA. (linear AND exponential controls)
on-chip Q control.

SSM2031:
Think it was an oscillator.
