Radio tuner ideas -- thanks!

Just wanted to thank everyone who responded with feedback on the "voltage
controlled radio tuner" idea I posted.  It's been, frankly, overwhelming!
At this stage I've come to the following conclusions:

1. I'm still too green to take on this project as yet;  I'll stick to
something more immediate, like externalizing the trim pots on my Poly800,
for now!  I may attempt it sometime in the future, though...who knows?

2. Synth DIY is a _great_ place to ask for feedback on these sorts of weird
ideas.  Even though I didn't exactly get the response I hoped for, I
certainly learned a few things...and apparently sparked some good discussion
about varistors, etc...

Keep those soldering irons warmed up, guys and gals!
