Modding a Peavey PC1600

Has anyone added knobs/pots in parallel with the 16 faders of the PC1600 
for when a fader just doesnt do the trick? :)

im also into building a box of controllers for the (dual) PC joystick port for
use 
with CC & sysex via some softwares ive come across.
a touchpad like on the Korg Z1 would be real nice too.

i know these are probably simple things for this list...
but im mostly a lurker & would love some advice... thanks.
