PAIA & kits - ametuer

Hello Travis;
No need to excuse your ignorance - we all start somewhere. I think the only
inexcusable behavior on these lists is unabashed rudeness -
Anyway, to answer your questions - the only thing you need to build the
Fatman is the ability to read and follow directions; a few simple tools
(soldering equipment, screwdriver, etc.), soldering skills, and some
patience. I believe Paia will sell you the instructions separately, so you
can decide if you really want to build the kit. Soldering is not hard to
do, but does require a little practice.
The Vocoder is a bit more complex; it does not come with a power supply, so
you have to come up with one on your own. This is not hard, but definitely
is not what you want to do for your first kit.
I would advise anyone interested in getting into synth-DIY to start with a
Fatman; it's not too expensive, and very easy to build.
