PAIA & kits - ametuer

hello,
Please do excuse my ignorance.  I am an absolute ametuer at synth making
(But i am really keen to learn how to!).  What exactly do u need to make a
basic synth like a paia fatman or paia vocoder?  In order to not disturb
the 'knowledgable ones' you can email me back personally if you like.

I would really be greatful if someone can give me advise on this and the
costs of doing so.
