This is true... when I have money burning a hole in my pocket I order from
schaeffer-apparatebau. When I don't, I just stuff everything in a little
plastic case. I've found the middle ground (drilling, sanding, painting
and labeling my own aluminum front panels) to be far too frustrating and
time consuming. I do this as a hobby, I'm more artist than engineer.
My ASM-1 is now in a textured beige plastic carrying case for a yamaha
portatone which I found (sans keyboard) in somebodys trash on my way to
work this summer. I use it lots.
