Ground. (I used the drain wire in the cable I built, but some early Juno
60's have trouble with ground loops -- the revision is in the Juno 60
service docs).
The Juno 60 has a smaller DCB command set than the Jupiter 8 -- it only can
transmit and receive note data. A full-featured Jupiter 8 cable would
require more conductors.

Yes, however if you count all the cables for the Jupiter 8, Juno 60,
OP-8(M), and OC-8 retrofits, Roland made 5 different DCB interconnects: the
H146, H147, H148, H165, and H172. The first three are ribbon cables. The
last two are the more popular -- the 165 is birectional and the 172 is
unidirectional. Luckily, they both used the same 14-pin "Centronics"
connectors.

I wish mine would play something exciting like stray notes -- mine just
sounds like flat MIDI. At least having a CV input for VCF cutoff is more
elegant than the SysEx required to automate filter sweeps on the Juno 106.
