Probably 7-8 bits. I had a Prophet-5 that encoded all pots at 7 bits,
and it worked pretty good.

again, probably 7-8 bits. The SixTrak I have encodes the EG's in 4
bits,
but I find this to be a bit "clunky"....

Probably, but WHY?? You can get DAC0800's for practically nothing
nowadays...

Nah - they get away with a REALLY slow rate on my sixtrak ...
