Stackable "banana-type" connectors are readily available in 1mm, 2mm
and 4mm sizes. I think there used to be a 3.2mm size (Wander plugs?) but
I haven't seen these recently.
The 4mm versions have been used on synths by Buchla, Serge, Synton,
PAiA, Bohm and probably others. I've seen a smaller size used on the
EMS Synthi E and the Maxx DIY modular but I can't tell from the pictures
if
they're 1mm or 2mm, but I can't think of anything else that uses them.
Finally, a word of warning. It's easy to break a 4mm socket by
overstacking
plugs. A stack of three plugs is nearly 4 inches long, and it doesn't
take much
sideways force to snap a socket. Sockets which are soldered directly to
a
PCB (eg Synton) are quite robust, but hard-wired ones can be fragile.
