a project I've been asked to build...

Genius thought Ingo! However it brings up a question or two. Might there
be any significant time delay in a program change reaction? And, do I
really want to stick all those program changes in my sequence?

This is a great thread and an often considered subject. I remember seeing
in a music catalog once (wish I had saved it or bought it) a small flat led
panel that mounted on a mic stand facing the drummer. It took the MIDI in
and displayed wand movement like a conductor would use to direct an
orchestra.

Come on. There must be some more really good ideas out there.
