"It's not a bug, it's your solder flux--I mean, it's a feature."
Last night I tried hooking up my SCI Six-Trak. I haven't used it since I
moved. Prior to that I had replaced the battery and tested everything. It
worked fine.
Well, last night it didn't work. I hoped it didn't get damaged in transit.
I tried using to several key combinations to flush out the RAM but nothing
seemed to work. So, I decided to open it up, remove the battery, ground the
RAM chips and put it then back together.
While I had it opened and was testing the battery voltage I noticed what
seemed like a salt stain around the terminals. I scraped it off and then
cleaned the area with a damp cloth. Having read the ASM-1/flux thread I'd
thought I'd close it up and see if it worked. It did!!
So flux was the problem. Everything seems to work fine. The only problem
I noticed is stuck notes. I suspect a bad MIDI connection. Anything else
I should check??
PEACE OUT :)
