somewhat OT: OB problems

All,
This is not really DIY, but amazingly important to me, and I'm running out
of options. My OB matrix-1000 has died, apparently of overheating, and now
displays only "111" on the screen with no response from the keypad. I've
tried holding down enter on startup to reset the unit with no luck.
I have a matrix-6r which is in "ok" shape. (has a problem with the LCD
screen where if you power cycle it quickly the screen doesn't come up,
sometimes has other strange problems, but I think it's just attributable
to some IC's needing to be reseated) Maybe I could swap out the Curtis
chips into the 1k to see if that's the problem, but obviously I don't want
to do that unless absolutely necessary.
Any ideas? Is the "111" just a generic error or indicative or something
specific? Gibson has been less than helpful.
