.....er, the fact that it responds LINEARLY to voltage means that it is 
not, in itself, an 'octave per volt' device...
what you need is an exponential convertor, which then feeds a vco that responds
linearly.. and then the overall combination is an oct/v oscillator.
But, if you want this thing to stay tuned, I doubt the LM566CN will do so..
not that it matters for the pitch insensitive non-musician like me, thank god.
