Looking at a multimode filter based on the CEM3372, I was
wondering how easy it would be to make a 'discrete' CEM3372..
then, looking at the four voltage controlled gain stages, the
thought came: pulse width modulation multipliers! after all,
you only need one triangle generator at 100 KHz, and then a comparator for
each stage... then it occured, that you can make an exponential
generator by doing a power expansion, and generating the x powers
by successive multiplication.
I don't know if anyone is crazy enough to try this, or whether it is
easy to get sufficient accuracy, but let me know if you try/succeed/prove it
cant be done.
