>The only error in the form of my reply was to put your name in front of
it; My comments were only an 'general' rant (and of course, a rant it was),
making reference to a trend I have identified: Solid state folks have an
odd and unfounded superstition about tube equipment the associated
voltages. You have obviously taken personal offense to this, and that
wasn't my intention. You now have my (public & private) apology.
But to respond: My point was that you shouldn't say "150/120 volts isn't
>lethal, it just stings a bit, therefore I don't need to take the same
>precautions as when I deal with higher voltages."
(Well, I in fact didn't; that was somebody else)
As has been mentioned here many times before, you need to treat any high
voltage as potentially
>harmful, even if you know people who have been shocked by that much and
>have had no ill effects. Everybody has been or knows somebody who has been
>shocked by home 120vac, but that doesn't mean the people should be

Ok. Basic, good advice.

Yes! My very point indeed: nothing superstitious here, just proper handling
of the equipment, and common-sense.

that I'm never to be taken very seriously when ranting publicly. But this
was my fault.
