It's the startle reaction that breaks bones (like skulls and vertebrae).
Keep one hand in your back pocket. And don't have any golf clubs, ball
bearings, or broken glass on the floor behind you, just in case.

I've been zapped a few times. You should play around with HeNe laser tubes.
