It does work; the problem is that there are several versions of FSK tape
sync. It will work with the FSK out from other Roland devices, but the
MMT8/HR16 Alesis sync pulse is completely different. Worth considering
also is that it will sync to a sample of FSK, but when the sample ends you
have to have a sample of the "carrier" tone playing into it or it will drop
sync. Using a short clip of sampled FSK, it is actually possible to clock
the internal sequencer faster than the fastest setting you get from the
"tempo" knob.
