I just bought one for US$200 at a swap meet. It
was like, navy surplus or something. I like it. I
suppose that price included the uncertainty of
whether it worked or not- although the guy did
give me his card. I bought a new probe separately
for US$25. I bought a copied manual for US$35.

If it's at somebody's house, ask them to show you
if/how everything works.
