list organisation

This is NOT off topic, it's not about technical details but about the
synth diy list itself.  I don't want to offend the keeper of the list,
but:  Before the list moved to another server all messages where
archived, and you could download them month by month. I have them from
05.1995 to 04.96. But I was too slow, the list moved, and I think since
then nobody was able to get older stuff, you can't simply download them
month by month and the ordering by subject also shows some missing
information.

If someone is new to the list, he cannot just dig the archive, so
questions are asked over and over again.

I have a simple question: what can we do about?  Is there a way to
reinstall this service?
