Chips?

I believe that the SN76477 was replaced by the SN76488.  Both have the
same functionality but the '88 has a built-in 1/2 watt amplifier (if my
dusty memory recalls correctly).  The SN76477 might be harder to find
than the SN76488, so try looking for that one.  It's a Texas Instruments
chip.
