Mmm... Formant. Having presets to such a thing could be a bit
challanging but maybe well worth it...

The ICL8049 is quite well adapted for analog synths. The drawback is
that it (only) sweeps over 3 decades, that is 10 octaves... well, if
you want to use the VCO as a modulation source as well it would be
nice with a wider range...

The MAT-02 based exponential converter in the ASM-1 is similar to what
is in the ICL8049 and it sweeps almost 20 octaves.

The benefit of using a ICL8049 would be to get it all in one package,
the downside might be long term availablility I guess. Seems
interesting never the less.
