Ok, I have a spare sec, so here it goes: (it's just 1 dual op-amp, 1 100k
pot hooked up like a variable resistor/rheostat, and a 1uF cap. Taken
right from Gene Stopp's photocopies included in the asm-1 packet) 

EXPONENTIAL:

LINEAR: (adds a 300ohm resistor, gets rid of 1 trace. now that I think
about it you could hook this up with a switch in case you're can't decide
between the two)
