Hi!
All this talk about SPDIF makes me recall one of the more crude SPDIF
taps I have seen and it happends to be the case that I did it and
still has it around...
It is fairly well known (at least to me ;) that most CD-player
chip-sets have support for SPDIF and that only a few passive
components and a contact is needed. Well, as I was looking at the
service manual for my Technics CD-player I could easilly locate the
pin where the output where... so I opened it up and solderd a yellow
wire onto the pin, it sticks out of a crack in the front that allready
where there.. to use one has to take the ground reference from the
earphone jack... very crude but it is enought to get the bits falling
out on the box... so now I walk around with a CD player with a
mysterious yellow wire sticking out, and only you guys know what it is
for ;)
Cheers,
Magnus
