Questions on REALLY building your own Doepfer A-100

Hello guys,

I was looking into building up a Doepfer A-100 system. However, I have
noticed that Doepfer is charging quite a bit for the 3U rack-mount case
that they sell that comes with the power supply already installed.

According to Doepfer, they bought these cases from a company in Germany
named Isel. I was wondering if any of you have checked to see how much
it would cost to buy this case direct from Isel? If the cost difference
was large enough, I would have no problems with buying both case and
power supply separately and then putting them together myself. I am in
the US and have never purchased anything from a European location, so as
far as I know the shipping cost could be astronomical.

Also, I was wondering if anyone knows of any Net-based detailed pictures
of a Doepfer A-100 case without any modules installed? I would really
like to see where they place the power supply in the case and how exactly
the bus board is installed. It looks like even if you buy the case with
power supply installed from Doepfer, you still have to install the bus
board yourself, and I am curious to see how this is supposed to be done.

Thanks very much for any information!
Brett D
