Analog rack backplane idea?

I can verify this, we use tons of Schroff stuff at work for our 100 K UKP 3D 
motion analysis tools and it is seriously good. Very tough stuff, massive range 
of mostly standardised sized cases, and an easy roadmap to go from an 
experimental rig (it would be easy to have a small subrack for testing etc and a 
bigger nicer, <let the public see it> case for built things and all the  front 
panels would be guranteed to work together....I believe that Doepfer are using 
Schroff cases, though I stand to be corrected...

Yeah, the price can be a bit fierce, though with the p[ound at 2.9 DM it isn't 
as bad as it was....
