Hmm, I think it is not so easy to have a good frequency tracking (like a
vco) with a filter. Much more frequency determining elements in there
that can all contribute to scale error. I want  avco with reasonable good sine
wave, but also of course good scale conformity.

Sounds complicated, a sine shaper seems easier to me.
