Hello Synth-DIYers !

I have a problem understanding the schematic of the 10 note sequencer
published in the Penfold Book.
May I try to illustrate the part of the schematic in ascii :

 SK1 |
 _ ___|
| | \/
|_|
__|________o
              - VE

SK1 is the CV Out socket of the sequencer.

What is "-VE" ??
           ___
Is the " \/ " symbol "GND" ??

I╢m a real beginner, please help. :-)

I intend to use the 10-Note Sequencer from Penfold for my to-be-build
modular synth , without a keyboard.
What do you think about this device ? (alternatives maybe ?)
(BTW, if you want to know, it is a +5 V powered seq with a 555, cmos
tech + resistors and diodes)

thanks for your time,
Timo
