Cheetah MS6 DCO2 dead?

Hi,

I'm totally new to this list. I don't know what the lie of the land is
here, so please bear with me and my stupid questions...

I recently bought a Cheetah MS6 analog synth module dirt cheap and then
later found that I can't get any sound out of the last octave of the note
range (note numbers 24-35). Occasionally, it gives off a 'blat' kinda
sound but nothing musical. Definitely dead as a dodo. In the octave above
that, sometimes the sound is weak on some of the notes but if I play them
again, they thicken back up.

OK, I'm thinking now that the problem is a blown DCO (CEM3396). It only
seems to affect the square and sawtooth waves on this DCO2. Is there any
way I can tell which CEM chip (of the six) is faulty, short of using a
scope? Could it be something else. Or I guess it could even be something
dumb like a dry solder joint. Dunno. Right now, I'm totally fumbling in
the dark.

Can some kind soul here point me in the right direction? I'd love to get
this baby screaming again. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Tash
