Diode replacement

Hello list.

I've got this (non-functioning) diode, which is driving me nuts, as I
can't find the specs (and hence a replacement).
It's a D0-35 package (Glass case, orange inside, blue cathode stripe),
not so far from a standard 1N4148.
The only markings on the case, apart from the blue stripe, is the
letters A1 and 12. 
So far I've searched the net for all combinations (A112, 12A1 and so on)
but without luck. Also, I've searched all the databooks at work, but
also without luck.

Any info regarding this component will be highly appreciated.
