EDP wasp conversion

I am looking for a midi-wasp converter so that I can run the wasp from
Cubase but I do not want to spend £110 on a converter (This is more than I
paid for the Wasp). I know that the Wasp uses a digital interface and so
may be a bit of a challenge for an electonics novice like me, but is there
a diy conversion method I can use, or a  cheaper solution?
