Was reading the latest front panels by trophy shop and remembered that I have
a friend right here in Austin Texas that does laser engraving. I've seen
examples of his work where he's etched anodized aluminum. The sample I saw was
about a ten inch circle about an inch thick (some sort of lamp base or
something). It was anodized black and the letters came out white. If I hadn't
watched the laser burn it i would have sworn it was white silk screen. He
works from CAD files or usually COREL Draw. If anyone wants to try him you
can get to him through me: ROBODON at aol.com or directly at ohlaser at flash.net
(Oak Hill Laser Engraving)
As in all these processes the more the merrier and guessing from the size of
the machine he could probably stack about 20 single width panels at a time in
it.
