How 'bout it John?

This must have been during the '70s, I don't recall :-)

It most likely was nothing more than driving them with a current
source rather than a voltage. Sometimes you can use pins for
unintended functions, like using the V- pin as part of a feed-back
loop and maybe this was it but, seriously, I don't recall. Apologies
that time is a little right now and I can't go back and research it.

My bud Matt Wilson posted this:

>reports that the
redesigned modules (dual vco, dual vcf, dual just about everything!)
are
coming along and should be available in August.

Man, with this 'net thing you can't get away with nothin - everybody
knows what you've told everybody else :-) Yes, May has gone to June
and now August. I'll be leaving the office Tuesday for a working
vacation that will have me away until Early August. I'll be finishing
up manuals for the VCF and VCO while away.

I'm about to bus' wide open holding in a gadget that I want to share
but not until I've had the opportunity to verify the hardware fully.
Many months ago JH posted some speculations on using LM13600/13700
things as expo converters. I saved it, so good that I can't find it
now, but that's OK because it had burned itself into my head (I really
wanted the new modules to have an expo different than what's common).
About six weeks ago I thought I saw a way to do this that would
eliminate tempcos and produce a circuit with characteristics like the
3340. The spice simulations of this circuit are beautiful and I have
some hardware that I've built that initially looks as good as the
simulation. But I'm having a very difficult time finding the lab time
to really put it through it's paces.

I will have thoroughly tested this circuit by Tuesday, even if it
means over-nighters to do it because I can't leave until I'm sure that
it's doing what I think it's doing.

Since I've said anything at all, I'll let you know what I find out
even if it leaves me looking a little stupid. But I really think it's
going to pan out.

-John
