>well someone here in Melb has bought an ETI that was in the local

Damn! and how much was it?

Now, the only complete and functional ETI I know of was in this format too.
It was much expanded, with 8 VCO, 5 VCF etc, and was beautifully made. The
rather odd choice of RCA jacks had been chosen as the panel sockets though.
Initially a track missing off the VCF pcbs had prevented them from working,
but that was soon fixed. Alas i have not seen this unit in 10 years, though
I believe the constructor of it still has it. He did as of a year ago.

In discussions with Melbourne Music, I heard that ETIs do show up there from
time to time, but they NEVER buy them because of the hobbyist factor.

>Oh, and of course it doesn't work.. ;)

My one is actually a 3800, though due to me abandoning the original panel
and format, it does not make a lot of difference. I picked up the PCBs, some
of them partially assembled, in the trading post for $80 back in 1990. To
this day, only some of the modules have been completed, though I am still
working on them. Now I've moved I actually have somewhere to work on them!

I have five of the VCAs, as I built four of them back in the '80s. They
suffer from signal bleedthough at the moment. Three are in the process of
being re-panelled.

The VCF is great. Needs rewiring, as it's a rats nest at the moment.

NOISE worked fine, but needs a new panel.

One VCO has been operational, but needs a panel and wiring.

MIXERS are used all through the synth. I have a small custom PCB loosely
based on theirs that I use all over the place.

I have one equalizer, actually built around the eq pcb from the 414 mixer.
This has been modified to the 4600 circuit. (i found the mixer lying beside
the road, put out as hard rubbish. it suffered from the usual hobbyist
problems. Apalling construction, and dead semi's.)

And of course the beloved sequencer, hand wired on proto boards, using
scrap. Initially intended for an unemployed mate to use with his roland
(which I got for him for $50 DOH!) but since he NEVER powered it up, I
reclaimed it (the seq, not the synth - he won't part with that). Needs
re-boxing, as it is currently mounted in the top of an old Digital computer.

>so that's 3 in Melbourne plus one in bits in a box under a bed in StKilda,
>and one in Sydney.. anyone else?

Care to give details as to which these are?

Ken
