Case building questions.....

Hi Folks,
I've decided it's about time I built a case to house my collection of modules
(most of the Modulus development gets done on bare modules plugged into a
breakout on my Formant) and I have a question to ask those of you that have been
there and done that. Basically I'm planning on building a case to house 28
modules, it'll be roughly 42" by 18" internally (107cm x 46cm) as this is the
space defined by my desk and walls ATM. The modules are 9x3, a mix of Digisound
and Modulus.....
The question is.....are those plastic cabinet making block thingies up
to the job.....remember I'm going to want to have a sloped back to the case with
both upper and lower back hinged for access to the PSU connectors. I guess I'll
get two blocks at the top on each side and three or four blocks at the bottom,
and there's nothing to stop me putting a divider in between the two rows (in
fact I'll need it if only to put hinges or catches on on the back and screwing
modules into at the front....) Will it be strong enough to hold together if it's
made out of 3/8" (10mm) chipboard? I'll cover it in Tolex (or similar) and add
amplifier corner trims etc, will the plsastic doodahs hold or should I go for
metal bracketry?

MAny thanks for all answers, and I guess this is something the list needs to
talk about (I'm bored of barberpole phaser discussions <g>)
