Surely, this also depend on how well you apply the tool. For instance,
would the ASM-1 VCO (see the ASM-1 webpage) schematic be easier to
follow just due to it being handdrawn? I don't think so.
It all comes down to the artistically talent of good layout on the
handdrawer/cader... it doesn't care which tool one uses unless you
don't know that is important you will make a bad job.
For instance, at work I complained at the first design review of a new
product that all schematics lacked pin numbers... guess what they
spent a lot of work trying to figure out while debugging!!!
This was a feature of the large and expensive CAD software that is
being used... Cadence doesn't seem to be keen on pin-numbers it seems.

Same thing. Unless you got a feel for what looks good your shit will
look better. Don't blame the tool!
