Sorry but: What is the actual size of rack panels?

Since I'm living this every day now........
The 'U' height is 1.750 inches. But if you measure a 1U rack, it will be more like 1.725 inches. This is to allow
'slop' when putting panels side-by-side. The mounting hardware (#10-32) uses over-sized holes or notches
to allow the racks so butt up against each other.
The mounting holes are spaced 0.500 / 1.250 / 0.500 / 1.250 ....... which means any U sized rack can have
mounting holes 0.250 inches from each edge. Note that some wider panels may move the holes inwards
to get more support in the center of the unit.
So, a 5U rack width is really 5 x 1.750 = 8.75 - 0.030 (slop) = 8.720 inches wide. Note the slop is subtracted at the
END of the calculation.

Subject: Sorry but: What is the actual size of rack panels?
Hi there!
Sorry but I lost the answer for my question I posted some time ago:
What is the actual height size of one unit in an 19" industry standard rack?
Please tell me, what the size of one unit is in inches and/or centimeter.
Heiko
