....well this will help batz get his 3v supply going.....
Seriously, if you go back to the 60s and look at the work done on 
stability of stabiliser diodes ove monthlong periods you will see
that compared to a modern buried zener or bandgap they have a
tendency for a 'step' fluctuation once in a while .... and I 
suspect they are prone to disturbance by magnetic fields as well..
and I'd rather stand on a zener than an 0B2 any day ;)
