Midi2cv8 connection

Hi list,


Me and a friend are currently building our midi2cv's, and a question raised:
"Is there any way to use only 8 connectors (ie bananas) instead of those 16
1/8"jacks?" - in other words: "Is there a correct gate signal at the tip
output when the midi2cv is supposed to output gates?" We understand that
there is always a gate at the ring of the jack, but what when there should
already be one at the tip? Can we use the tip connections only?
