AH:

The 2206 and 2209, to my knowledge, are emitter-coupled multivibrators.
Good points:  Excellent temp. stability, good PSRR.
The 2206 makes a fairly nice sine, and even has a VCA of sorts, good for
about 55dB of dynamic range.

Bad points:  Non linear (too non-linear for most music apps) and a peculiar
hsyteresis at low control currents.

Well, if you full-wave rectify a triangle, you will get a triangle an octave
higher.
