D-50 weirdness

Hi,

Not quite a diy question this, but I have just discovered a bit of weird
behaviour from my beloved D-50. I wonder whether other people have
noticed the same thing with theirs. In standalone operation, i.e. no
midi connections, everything is fine. When the d-50 is connected to
Cubase everything is fine, except when the output channel of the
sequencer is set the same as the d-50. That is, the d-50 keyboard and
key pad are controlling the d-50's internal sounds via the computer.
When I select patch I-64 and then any other, or indeed I-64 again, the
patch changes to I-36. There is nothing wrong with any other part of my
very long midi chain. In fact the problem even occurs when the d-50's
midi out is fed back into the midi in of the d-50. It appears that the
d-50 is sending out the correct patch change and then almost immediately
sending out the erroneous I-36. I have tried recording the patch change
information, but all I get is the erroneous one. But, remember, the
patch change is actually correct unless the d-50 receives its own
information back, then it sends out the duff one. If you program patch
changes in Cubase, everything is fine. It only happens with I-64, and
the change is always to I-36.

Weird.
