best way to do labeling on chassis?

Check out the latest issue of Nuts and VOldtolts they have an good
artical elle on making rack mount chassis .  Basically he suggests
drawing out the lables els on on your computer then printing out 
and taking them to a copy shop and having them transfer the
artwork to clear sticky backed material. You can yuse the resut
as a decal. If you clear coat the panel (a good idea) then use
lots of very thin coats of paint spray paint , so that the ink on the decals
wont run. 
I have tried this method and it works quite well.
