Jupiter 8 filter

Hello all,
              I recently borrowed a Jupiter8 and hated having to 
give it back....I especially loved the way the synth sounded;- not 
just the billions of oscillators but the general tone of the synth.By 
this i mean that the J8 sounds [to me] not too fat nor too thin yet 
very Hi-Fi. I was particularly impressed by the VCF which sounded 
very clean yet doesn't thin out at high res like many filters do.
    Does anyone on this list know if the filter is a transistor 
ladder or ic based as i'm considering building one for my modular if 
this is possible.
   Also i dont have the schematics for the J8,is there anywhere on 
the net i can see them? I tried Music Machines where there are 
interconnection diagrams for the Jupiter8 but no actual schematics of 
the circuits.
   Any help in this matter will be appreciated.
