I agree with that - what's a patch lead if it's not just a highly flexible
'switch', with outputs as 'contacts'.
The only switches in my modular are to save having to pull patch leads out
to turn off oscillator sync.
I prefer to use a cross-fade knob rather than a switch.
I have 2 SEM type filters - they have a knob to fade between the hi and lo
pass outputs, and another knob to fade between the hi/lo output and the
bandpass. They have a final output for the crossfades, plus separate hi and
lo direct outputs.
The next stage will be to add a Haible Interpolating Scanner when I have
time (christmas holiday coming up...)

Sweeping between different filter mode outputs is a feature well worth
having.
