Filter Layout question

It looks like I'm going to finally get back to building the Gene Stopp
machines and I had a layout question.

At the school I goto (I'm studying Japanese, not music!, but I volunteered
as a tutor) they have a couple of Serge panels (super basic ones), but the
filter section caught my eye. It has an out put for each type of filter
that it does. One input and one set of controls but you can tap into the
lowpass, or band, or high or a 4th one that I can't think of at the moment
but it doesn't matter.

I've not looked at Gene's boards in a while so I don't remember if he set
the filter up to do different mods, so for this project the question might
be mute, but I'll ask it anyway.

Do you find it useful to be able to patch into a different mod, or more
then one at a time, or is it nicer to just use a switch to select the mode?
The xpander uses the switch method even though it could have used the multi
method, but they prolly made their decision for different reason., but then
again it have modes that mix the different versions, which could be done
with a switch too.

hmmm....
